Lake Rosseau

The Town of Rosseau and Lake Rosseau is a ten minute drive from the property. Originally known as Helmsley, Rosseau was not really known about until Mr. W H Pratt built Rosseau House in 1870 at the north end of Lake Rosseau. It was Mr. Pratt who didn’t like the name Helmsley and asked that it be renamed Rosseau, when he requested a post office be opened. Even though the name Rosseau was used the name was not officially changed until 1926, when the village of Rosseau was incorporated.

Taking a Stroll in Downtown Huntsville

The property is 10 minutes from the town of Rosseau about 20 minutes from Seguin (pop. 3988) or if you want to go to the “big city” Port Carling (pop. 6,900) and Huntsville (pop. 20,000) are a bit further away.

Huntsville is a four-season vacation – land with something for the whole family. Golf on some of the finest courses to be found in Ontario. Hike through breathtaking Algonquin Park. Take a leisurely stroll along the main street and enjoy the unique gift shops or visit one of several historic sites in the area. Enjoy a night out at one of the many fine restaurants the area has to offer. In the fall you will be captivated by the collage of colours.
